A journey toward enlightenment in a world filled with suffering.

Legendary creator Osamu Tezuka reimagines the life and teachings of Siddhartha Gautama in this sweeping historical epic. Blending historical events with fictional characters and dramatic storytelling, Buddha follows the struggles of people across ancient India as they confront war, poverty, class divisions, and the search for meaning. Through compassion, suffering, and personal transformation, the story traces Siddhartha’s journey toward enlightenment and the birth of Buddhism. Deeply human and emotionally powerful, Buddha combines philosophy, adventure, and social commentary in one of Tezuka’s most celebrated works.
