A new Aincrad, a mysterious girl, and a secret that could destroy the world they came to love.

Kirito and his friends return to the virtual world of Aincrad in Sword Art: Origin, a new game built from the remains of the original Sword Art Online. There they encounter Premiere, a mysterious NPC girl with no memory of who she is—and what begins as a simple quest soon draws them into a much larger mystery involving the game's origins and the fate of its digital world.

As Kirito and the others investigate, they face powerful enemies, uncover secrets about Premiere and her counterpart Tia, and fight to protect the virtual world and the people they've come to care about. This manga combines virtual-world adventure, action, mystery, friendship, and romance in a story that explores what it means for an artificial world—and its inhabitants—to have a life of its own.
