Volume 1 Verdict: Dungeons That Surely Slaughter Adventurers
At first glance, Dungeons That Surely Slaughter Adventurers reads like a joke... and in a way, it is. It follows two ordinary people who are suddenly transported into a fantasy world, not as heroes, but as janitorial staff working inside a dungeon built for adventurers.
Instead of fighting monsters, they’re cleaning up after them. And when they realize how much of a mess adventurers leave behind, they start thinking a little differently about how the dungeon should be run.
First Impressions
This is one of the more unusual premises I’ve come across in a while. It leans heavily into absurdity, but commits to it in a way that actually works. The humor is very specific. It’s a mix of slapstick, dry delivery, and a kind of petty, slightly unhinged logic that drives the story forward. The idea of dungeon staff getting fed up and deciding to “optimize” things is where most of the comedy comes from, and whether that lands for you is going to depend entirely on your taste.
The art and character designs are consistent and expressive enough to support the tone, even when the story gets a little ridiculous. It’s not trying to be polished or epic; it’s trying to be weird. More than anything, this feels like a series built around a single idea, explored as far as it can go. It’s not something I’ve really seen done before, which makes it stand out, even if it’s not for everyone.

Final Verdict
Niche, but Interesting
This is definitely not going to land for everyone, but if the premise clicks for you, there’s something here. It’s weird, a little chaotic, and fully committed to its concept.
You’ll either get a few good laughs... or a lot of secondhand embarrassment. Possibly both.

You May Also Like...
Takes a completely chaotic premise and runs with it, following characters who respond to a zombie apocalypse with surprisingly unhinged optimism. Like Dungeons That Surely Slaughter Adventurers, it thrives on absurd logic and the idea of completely ignoring how things “should” work.
Leans into that same unpredictable, slightly offbeat storytelling where you’re never quite sure where things are going next. Like Dungeons, it builds its appeal through bizarre situations, deadpan humor, and a world that feels just a little out of sync with itself.
Centers on a protagonist who takes advantage of a broken system and pushes it as far as possible. Like Dungeons, a lot of the fun comes from watching characters exploit the rules of their world in ways that feel both clever and a little petty.
