Volume 1 Verdict: Killing Me/Killing You
Killing Me / Killing You sounds like it should be bleak.
After a catastrophic event leaves parts of humanity mutated and unable to die, the world itself becomes unstable; strange, broken, and filled with people still trying to make sense of what’s left.
Meteor and Youth are two of those survivors. Both immortal, both unable to die, they set out on a journey with a single goal: to find a way to end their lives.
But as they move through this world, meeting others who are just as lost, just as changed, their journey becomes something more than just an endpoint.
First Impressions
What really stood out to me is how much this story isn’t about death.
Meteor and Youth may be traveling with that goal in mind, but the way they move through the world--and the people they meet along the way--constantly shifts the focus back to living. They have this tendency to unintentionally leave an impact on others, helping people rediscover purpose or connection just by being there.
And it’s not heavy all the time, either.
There’s a surprising amount of humor here. The dialogue, the situations they end up in, even the way they interact with each other... it all adds a lightness that keeps the story from feeling overwhelming. It makes the emotional moments land harder when they do show up.
Their dynamic is a huge part of that. There’s a sense of closeness that builds naturally, something that doesn’t need to be clearly labeled to feel meaningful. Whether you read it as platonic, romantic, or somewhere in between, it works because it feels genuine.
More than anything, this is a story about connection showing up where you don’t expect it, and how even in a world like this, people still find reasons to keep going.

Final Verdict
A Surprisingly Warm Take on the End of the World
This one genuinely surprised me.
It takes a premise that sounds heavy and turns it into something reflective, occasionally funny, and quietly hopeful. The characters feel real, the world feels lived-in, and there’s a strong sense that even in a setting like this, connection still matters.
It’s not about wanting to die, it’s about everything that happens when you can’t.

Takes a bleak, end-of-the-world scenario and flips it into something unexpectedly fun and life-affirming. Instead of just surviving, the characters actively chase what makes life worth living—even if it’s a little ridiculous. Like Killing Me / Killing You, it balances dark circumstances with humor and heart, showing how connection and purpose can still exist in a broken world.
Chaotic, violent, and strangely heartfelt all at once. Its world is harsh and often absurd, but the relationships between characters give it a surprising warmth beneath the madness. Like Killing Me / Killing You, it finds meaning in connection—even when everything else feels unstable, unpredictable, or downright bizarre.
Blends curiosity, danger, and emotional storytelling into a journey that’s as beautiful as it is unsettling. While it leans heavier in tone, it shares that same core idea: pushing forward despite fear, uncertainty, and the unknown. Like Killing Me / Killing You, it’s ultimately about the bonds that form along the way—and what keeps people moving forward, no matter the cost.
