Welcome to the Spring Manga Market

Updated: Mar 24

Hello, Friends!

The rain is finally letting up in Vancouver, and that means it’s time to start growing our shelves again.

This February was a blast. The cozy atmosphere from all those comfort reads and fluffy romances really helped us get through the rainy season, and we hope it helped you, too. Now that we're getting blue skies and nicer weather, we feel it's time to shift our focus to springtime and cultivating collections.

Welcome to the Spring Manga Market.

February Recap

First, a little recap of February:

February's biggest draw was the Double-Punch Deal for all shoujo, romance, and family-themed stories, and you all did not disappoint! People walked in empty-handed and left with stacks of books and already-full punch cards, ready for their next visit. We couldn’t be happier. We also had some people enjoying our Rental Library. If you like the series, we have all the series featured in the Rental Library in stock at our store. If you didn't like the series all too much, you saved yourself from committing to owning the book, and hopefully, you can grow your collection without regrets.

Complete Your Collection

Spring is about growth, and that includes your shelves.

March is the perfect time to finish what you started and finally commit to the series you've been thinking about for years. Maybe you fell in love with the anime and realized you need the full story on paper--trust us, we’ve been there.

This month we’re spotlighting long-running favorites (Naruto, One Piece, Komi Can’t Communicate), beautiful collector’s editions (including new hardcover editions of The Girl From the Other Side), and plenty of boxed sets, art books, and character guides.

And yes--we’re especially excited about the boxed sets. There’s nothing quite like bringing an entire series home at once. When you support local manga shops, you help us keep bringing in new titles and hidden gems.

March Events

We also have two events occurring in March:

  • Friday the 13th: On Friday, March 13th, we will have a 13% off discount for all horror and thriller manga--available in-store only. Whether you're looking for the new re-printing of Parasyte, or you want to add yet another Junji Ito hardback to your collection, now's the perfect time to add to your Horror Shelf.

  • Manga Meets Matcha Pop-Up Event: We're excited to host our newest friend, Dayone Matcha Bar, on Saturday, March 21st. We’ll share more details soon... but trust us, you’ll want to be there. We want the shop buzzing that day: collectors, casual readers, and matcha lovers all in one space. You definitely won't want to miss out on delicious ceremonial-grade matcha.

New Releases

Are there any upcoming releases you're excited about that we should stock? Let us know!

Title Requesting

New releases are always exciting, but if there’s a specific volume you’re waiting on, don’t forget:

Our Title Request Form is always open. Ask us to find Volume X of Series Y---no service fee, just the cost of the book if we track it down.

It’s an easy way to finish a series, stay local, and avoid the online scavenger hunt.

If there's a series you want to see on our shelves, tell us. We love tracking down requests.

Thank you for your continued support

Every "win" of ours is all because of you. Without your support, this shop would be little more than an oversized, glorified bookshelf (... that does sound nice...), but we've built a community. Senpai & Co. isn’t just a store anymore. It’s becoming a meeting place where collectors trade recommendations, new readers test the waters, and long-running series finally find a permanent home on someone’s shelf.

March is about building that momentum together.

See you in the market,

Ashe & the Senpai & Co. Team
